Personal Shop
For those of you who have played Ever Quest u know how having a personal shop is. I think that allowing players to set up a personal trade shop. Nothing fancy. The main idea is while your away, you can set aside items for sale, set a price. and come back to the game later to see if you sold anything, instead of having to endur sitting there making annocements, trading with one player at a time with either success or the frustation of failure. For those of you who played Diablo 2 long enough you know exactly what I mean. So how's that for a suggestion?

I pray this never happens. I haven't been able to enjoy a barter system with haggling since pre-bazaar EverQuest. Auction House systems and Bazaar systems really take the personal touch out of the game, and make it purely a grindfest. No prices are in the air when you can't haggle.
So no.

Ahh, thats too bad. Back in my night online days, I just loved setting prices for my items, leaving my shop open as I sleep, then come back and collect the till.
But it got annoying, walking around in town, your screen crowded with people's shops.. and besides, it would kill the server because people would never log off. :P

I concur, but for 2 other reasons as well.
Price gouging is rampantly pushed.
Also, I played lineage 2 for approximately 1 month. In that time, I came to realize that the sheer volume of players in the game running a personal store makes it NEXT to IMPOSSIBLE to see where the hell you are going in town!
:-P

You would get raped if the price suddenly went up and you're still selling it for nothing.
Seems like it would be more confusing to me though. Instead of spam like SELLING X BUYIN X. You'll see SELLING X IN MY SHOP. LOOKING FOR X WHOS SHOP HAS?!
Really doesn't solve much.
The auction will be better IMO.

Ok, so personal shop thumbs down
Ah, there's always those things that you don't think about... After reading the current replies I have changed my mind. So personal shop "thumbs down". Auction house "Thumbs up"! Thanks everyone for commenting on my idea.

I don't really see the problem of having personal shops as an area of the guild hall
